At Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo), located in Richland,
Washington, we are working to provide a sustainable future for the
historic Hanford area through the protection of the Columbia River
and the remediation of the Central Plateau. To achieve our mission,

The Deputy Director of Engineering & Nuclear Safety will work under
the direction of the CPCCo Engineering & Nuclear Safety (E&NS)
Director. When the E&NS Director is absent or unavailable to
perform their duties, the Deputy of E&NS may temporarily assume
the role of E&NS Director with all delegated and requisite
authority. The Deputy Director of E&NS will be responsible for
the overall performance of the organization including but not
limited to the following:
* Oversight of core organizational functions including Engineering,
Nuclear Safety, Fire Protection, Work Planning, and Conduct of
Work.
* Management of organizational G&A budgets, including
potentially serving as cost account manager, monitoring and
development of variance analysis reports and corrective actions as
appropriate.
* Provide organizational leadership including aligning personnel
with project work scope and aiding in the development/growth of
employees through personnel interaction and development of
programs.
* Evaluation of programmatic performance utilizing key performance
indicators and assessment results and determination of actions for
improvement.
* As requested by the director, provided focused leadership to
supplement specific project engineering management in resolution of
high-priority or high visibility technical issues.
Basic Qualifications
* Deputy, Engineering & Nuclear Safety - Grade 24 - Bachelor's of
Science degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, plus 14
years of relevant experience and at least 4 years of required
relevant experience must be nuclear experience.
* Deputy, Engineering & Nuclear Safety - Grade 25 - Bachelor's of
Science degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, plus 16
years of relevant experience and at least 4 years of required
relevant experience must be nuclear experience.
The higher posted level has greater scope, complexity, authority,
impact. The level offered to the selected candidate will be based
on the needs of the company and the candidate's education,
training, and/or experience.
Desired Qualifications
* Detailed knowledge of 10 CFR 830 Subpart B ("Safety Basis
Requirements") including the principles of hazard analysis,
accident analysis, and DSAs/TSRs. Familiarity with
DOE-STD-3009-2014 and DOE-STD-5506-2021.
* Extensive experience leading and managing customer interface
(including local DOE, DOE HQ, DNFSB) including development of
written communications describing technical issues.
* Knowledge of EVMS principles including cost account management
and variance reporting for analysis. Experience with contracts is
preferred.
* Understanding of project management principles including schedule
logic ties, familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar scheduling
tools, critical path, float, etc.
* Development and management of Engineering programmatic
initiatives that underpin organizational excellence.
* Familiarity with Conduct of Work principles including Conduct of
Operations (DOE O 422.1), Hazardous Energy Control, and Work
Planning.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the CPCCo salary determination process, CPCCo
takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and
responsibilities, and the candidate's education, training, and/or
experience relative to internal peers and the external labor
market. CPCCo will not solicit salary history for candidates.
Expected annualized pay range based on full time schedule (40 hours
per week):
* Deputy, Engineering & Nuclear Safety - Grade 24: $205,975 -
$270,925.
* Deputy, Engineering & Nuclear Safety - Grade 25: $236,775 -
311,525.
In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for variable pay
awards.
